At its meeting held October 30, 2007, the Board took the following action:

      Supervisor Burke made the following statement:

      “Sometime "In the early afternoon of Sunday, October 14, 2007, Armando Joseph Mariscal, Jr. was shot and killed when another vehicle pulled up alongside him at the corner of Lincoln Boulevard and Maxella Avenue near Marina del Rey."

      Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Burke, seconded by Supervisor Knabe, unanimously carried (Supervisor Molina being absent), the Board established a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Armando Joseph Mariscal, Jr., who was shot and killed when another vehicle pulled up alongside him at the corner of Lincoln Blvd. and Maxella Ave. near Marina del Rey, in the City of Los Angeles on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at approximately 4:40 p.m.

NOTICE OF $10,000.00 REWARD
OFFERED BY THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for the or the death of Armando Joseph Mariscal, Jr., who was shot and killed when another vehicle pulled up alongside him at the corner of Lincoln Blvd. and Maxella Ave. near Marina del Rey, in the City of Los Angeles on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at approximately 4:40 p.m.

Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detective Mike Depasquale at the Los Angeles Police Department, Pacific Division at (310) 482 6369 and refer to Report No. 0714-29-424.

The terms of the reward provide that:

• The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than January 28, 2008. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than March 28, 2008.
• The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
• The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.

Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than March 28, 2008, with the Executive Office of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Armando Joseph Mariscal, Jr. Reward Fund.
