Shooting Death of Brittani Idom

At its meeting held July 10, 2007, the Board took the following action:

Supervisor Antonovich made the following statement:

"At approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 6, 2007, 18-year-old Altadena resident Britanni Idom was fatally shot while driving west on Washington Boulevard near Crenshaw in the Lafayette Square area of Los Angeles. She was a graduate of Pasadena High School and on the Glendale Community College's competitive cheerleading team.

"Officials at the Los Angeles Police Department's Homicide Division have indicated that she was not the target of this heinous shooting incident and are seeking assistance with information that may aid in their investigation."

Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Antonovich, seconded by Supervisor Yaroslavsky, unanimously carried, the Board established a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Britanni Idom, who was shot and killed while driving west on Washington Blvd. near Crenshaw, in the Lafayette Square area on July 6, 2007 at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has established a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Britanni Idom who was shot and killed while driving west on Washington Blvd. near Crenshaw in the Lafayette Square area of Los Angeles on July 6, 2007, at 1:30 a.m.

Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detective Christine Horoyd at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide Division at (213) 473-0446 and refer to Report No.070721452.

The terms of the reward provide that:

The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than October 8, 2007. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than December 7, 2007.
The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.

Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than December 8, 2007 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Britanni Idom Reward Fund.
