Hit and Run Death of Elizabeth Sandoval

At its meeting held July 17, 2007, the Board took the following action:

The following statement was entered into the record for Supervisor Antonovich:

"On July 10, 2007 at 9:45 p.m., 24-year-old, Elizabeth Sandoval, was a victim of a fatal hit and run at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Windsor Street. The Glendale resident and her friend were crossing Glendale Avenue at Windsor Street, when she was struck by a 2003 black 4-door Mercedes-Benz S430, with a license plate of O7TT777 driving south bound on Glendale Avenue at a high rate of speed. Ms. Sandoval’s body was thrown approximately 100 feet where she succumbed to her injuries. The vehicle is believed to have front end damage and a person of interest is Ara Grigoryan of Glendale, described as a male Armenian, approximately 5’9 with black hair and brown eyes.

"The Glendale Police Department is seeking information to assist in their investigation."

Therefore, at the suggestion of Supervisor Antonovich and on motion of Supervisor Burke, seconded by Supervisor Knabe, unanimously carried (Supervisors Molina and Antonovich being absent), the Board established a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous fatal hit and run of 24-year-old, Elizabeth Sandoval, on July 10, 2007 at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Windsor Street at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous fatal hit and run of 24-year old, Elizabeth Sandoval, on July 10, 2007 at the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Windsor Street at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detective Bill Frommling at the Glendale Police Department at (818) 548-4840 and refer to Report No. 07-12106.

The terms of the reward provide that:

The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than October 15, 2007. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than December 14, 2007.
The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.

Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than December 14, 2007 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Elizabeth Sandoval Reward Fund.
