At its meeting held June 13, 2006, the Board took the following action:
Supervisor Burke made the following statement:“On December 4, 2005, Johnny H. Brown II was shot to death in the driveway of an apartment house located at 1024 W. 106th Street at approximately 2:15 a.m. As of today, no viable suspect description or vehicle information has been submitted to the Sheriff’s Department’s investigators.
“Mr. Brown worked as a Special Code Enforcement and Mobile Assistance Officer for the City of Inglewood. He had just celebrated his 38th birthday on the day before his senseless murder. His mother, Dr. Wanda M. Brown, is the elected City Treasurer for the City of Inglewood.
“To date, no one has come forward with any information in response to the initial offer of reward authorized by this Board on March 21, 2006, and the Sheriff’s Department has recommended an extension of this reward offer.”
Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Burke, seconded by Supervisor Antonovich, unanimously carried (Supervisor Knabe being absent), the Board extended the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Johnny H. Brown II, who was shot and killed in the driveway of an apartment house located at 1024 W. 106th Street, in the City of Inglewood, on Sunday, December 4, 2005, at approximately 2:15 a.m.
NOTICE OF $10,000.00 REWARD
OFFERED BY THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has extended the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Johnny H. Brown II, who was shot and killed in the driveway of an apartment house located at 1024 W. 106th Street, in the City of Inglewood, on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at approximately 2:15 a.m.
Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detective Frank Salerno at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5614 and refer to Report No. 2005-11566-0375-011.
The terms of the reward provide that:
- The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than September 17, 2006. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than November 16, 2006.
- The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
- The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.
Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than November 16, 2006 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Johnny H.
