At its meeting held June 26, 2007, the Board took the following action:
Supervisor Molina made the following statement:
"On Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at approximately 10:20 p.m. Michael Paul Miller was shot and killed on the 710 Long Beach Freeway near the Third Street exit. Michael's girlfriend called him to help her with a flat tire. Michael was shot and killed by a suspect who drove up alongside the couple. Mr. Miller was a resident of Bell Gardens and leaves behind two young daughters. His grandparents and father are seeking the public’s assistance in order to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. Anyone with any information about this murder is being asked to call Detective J. Shipe at (323) 890 5500 or Sergeant G. Okada at (323) 890-5620 with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau."
Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Molina, seconded by Supervisor Burke, unanimously carried, the Board established a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Michael Paul Miller, who was shot and killed on the 710 Long Beach Freeway near the Third Street exit, on June 12, 2007, at approximately 10:20 p.m.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORSNotice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is offering a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Michael Paul Miller, who was shot and killed on the 710 Long Beach Freeway near the Third Street exit, on June 12, 2007, at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detectives J. Shipe at (323) 890-5500 or G. Okada at (323) 890-5620 at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and refer to Report No. 007-06907-0283-011.
The terms of the reward provide that:
The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than September 24, 2007. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than November 23, 2007. The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $25,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes. The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than November 23, 2007 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Michael Paul Miller Reward Fund.
