At its meeting held February 15, 2005, the Board took the following action:
Supervisor Antonovich made the following statement:"On Friday, November 12, 2004, Neil Hacker was discovered fatally shot and killed inside his place of business in Quartz Hill. In an effort to bring the person or persons to justice, on November 23, 2004, the Board approved a reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his murder.
"The Sheriff's Homicide Bureau is requesting assistance from anyone who may have information that could aid this investigation."
Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Antonovich, seconded by Supervisor Burke, unanimously carried (Supervisors Yaroslavsky and Molina being absent), the Board approved the extension of the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Neil Hacker, whose body was discovered inside his place of business at Critical Car Care Detail Shop located at 4848 Quartz Hill Rd., in Quartz Hill, on Friday, November 12, 2004 at approximately 12:30 p.m.
NOTICE OF $10,000.00 REWARD
OFFERED BY THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has extended the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Neil Hacker, whose body was discovered inside his place of business at Critical Car Care Detail Shop located at 4848 Quartz Hill Rd., in Quartz Hill, on Friday, November 12, 2004 at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detective John Corina or Detective Scott Fines at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 and refer to Report No. 004-22224-1182-011.
The terms of the reward provide that:
- The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than May 22, 2005. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than July 21, 2005.
- The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
- The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.
Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than July 21, 2005 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Neil Hacker Reward Fund.
