Felonious Domestic Assault by Saul Jaime Vaca Arceo

At its meeting held March 6, 2007, the Board took the following action:

Supervisor Antonovich made the following statement:

“On December 12, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved a reward offer of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Saul Jaime Vaca Arceo (a.k.a. Jaime Arceo Vaca) for spousal assault, criminal threats and child endangerment. The reward will expire on March 12, 2007.

“On November 28, 2006, Mr. Arceo was involved in a felonious domestic assault against his estranged wife near the 6000 block of Vista Street in North San Gabriel. Following the domestic violence incident, Mr. Arceo told his wife that he planned to take their two sons, nine and ten years-old, and kill them before committing suicide. Later that day, he set his vehicle on fire while his sons were sleeping inside the vehicle near the 3500 block of Fair Oaks Drive in Altadena. Fortunately, the boys were able to escape from the vehicle in time to avoid any injuries. Mr. Arceo remains at large while posing a great risk to his family and community."

Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Antonovich, seconded by Supervisor Molina, unanimously carried (Supervisor Yaroslavsky being absent), the Board approved the extension of the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of Saul Jaime Vaca Arceo (a.k.a. Jaime Arceo Vaca) for felonious domestic assault against his estranged wife near the 6000 block of Vista St., North San Gabriel; and for criminal threats and child endangerment when he set his vehicle on fire while his nine and ten year-old sons were asleep inside, near the 3500 block of Fair Oaks Dr., Altadena on Tuesday, November 28, 2006.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has extended the $10,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of Saul Jaime Vaca Arceo (a.k.a. Jaime Arceo Vaca) for felonious domestic assault against his estranged wife near the 6000 block of Vista St., North San Gabriel; and for criminal threats and child endangerment when he set his vehicle on fire while his nine and ten year-old sons were asleep inside, near the 3500 block of Fair Oaks Dr., Altadena on Tuesday, November 28, 2006.

Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Deputy Susan Hohenhaus at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple City Station, Detective Bureau at (626) 292-3315 and refer to Report No. 006-17377-0586-011.

The terms of the reward provide that:

The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than June 10, 2007. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than August 9, 2007.
The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $10,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.
