At its meeting held December 19, 2006, the Board took the following action:

      Supervisor Burke made the following statement:

      “On April 18, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved a reward offer of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Victor White, Jr. The reward was last extended on October 3, 2006, but will expire on January 12, 2007.

      “On January 1, 2005, Victor White, Jr. was brutally murdered in front of his home in the 11800 block of Manor Drive in Hawthorne, California. Mr. White was talking on the phone in his driveway, when a car drove up with the lights off and shots were fired.

      “There are no known suspects at this time.

      “Mr. White leaves behind a 4-year old son, mother, father, six siblings and a host of family and friends.”

      Therefore, on motion of Supervisor Burke, seconded by Supervisor Antonovich, unanimously carried (Supervisor Molina being absent), the Board approved the extension of the $5,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Victor White, Jr., who was shot while talking on his phone in front of his home located in the 11800 block of Manor Dr., in the City of Hawthorne on January 1, 2005.


NOTICE OF $5,000.00 REWARD
OFFERED BY THE
LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles has extended the $5,000 reward offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Victor White, Jr., who was shot while talking on his phone in front of his home located in the 11800 block of Manor Dr., in the City of Hawthorne on January 1, 2005.

Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Lieutenant Joe Hartshorne at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5564 and refer to Report No. 2005-00001-3199-011.

The terms of the reward provide that:

  • The information given that leads to the determination of the identity, the apprehension and conviction of any person or persons must be given no later than April 12, 2007. All reward claims must be in writing and shall be received no later than June 11, 2007.
  • The total County payment of any and all rewards shall in no event exceed $5,000 and no claim shall be paid prior to conviction unless the Board of Supervisors makes a finding of impossibility of conviction due to the death or incapacity of the person or persons responsible for the crime or crimes.
  • The County reward may be apportioned between various persons and/or paid for the conviction of various persons as the circumstances fairly dictate.

Any claims for the reward funds should be filed no later than June 11, 2007 with the Executive Officer of the Board of Supervisors, 500 West Temple Street, Room 383 Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, Los Angeles, California 90012, Attention: Victor White, Jr. Reward Fund.
